Another adorable newborn session coming your way. :-) This session was a little later then the typical "first 10 days after birth" session, Allison was three weeks old for her session.

We started the session out with a couple family photos in Allison's nursery, since she was so excited for her first photo shoot, she of course wanted to be awake for it. :-) Yeap, we have a future runway model coming your way in a few years. lol

We decided to head back downstairs to continue her session, even though she was still pretty alert. I must say even though she wasn't sleeping in this photo, It's still one of my favorites.

And eventually like all babies do, she fell asleep.

These last three photos are also a few of my favorites. OK I admit when you have an adorable child you are photographing it's hard not to have so many favorites.

A first for "Tammy B Photography", a couple that I had the pleasure of shooting their wedding photos, had their first baby and they asked to me to take newborn photos for them. I have to admit I was super excited and so very excited for Jennifer and Adam.

I' d like everyone to meet the super adorable, tiny, precious, & perfect little angel, Sara. Why I'm I bragging about this little girl? Well because she was such a wonderful baby to photography, only made one sound the whole time. :-)

Without further delay, Sara..

Prior to every newborn session, I ask the family if there is anything specific, IE prop, attire, etc that they would like to do for their photos. Jennifer commented that she wanted a photo with Sara on a Hammock, Done. :-)

And of course we can't leave out the family as a whole. Congrats again Jennifer and Adam, Sara is so beautiful.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, rather it's just a husband and wife with maybe their pet or a huge family with lots of children. There is one thing for certain, each is unique and special and I take such pride in trying to capture the personality of each family, it's not just taking a picture, it's about capturing moments, feelings, or the way the family bonds together.

This next session is of four beautiful children, the boys were battling who could be the funniest and the girls, well all I can say is pretty dresses and beautiful smiles. These are the little things that make me love what I do. :-)

This first photo is a quick glimpse and each of these adorable children. With that in mind the majority of the photo shoot was for the youngest daughter, just don't want you to think I was playing favorites. lol

During the colder months I tend to do more children photo session, but as the weather starts to change and wedding season approaches, I start to work on couples, high school seniors and weddings. There is nothing more beautiful then seeing two people so in love.

I met up with Arlie and Dion in downtown Plymouth to do their engagement photos, it just so happens that they meet each other there. From across the room in a crowded bar they spotted each other, and it was actually Arlie that approached Dion. Way to go girl. :-)

I want to start out by saying I' am such a horrible blogger, this is an area that I tend to neglect when it comes to having too much work to do, ok that isn't entirely true, my poor website hasn't been updated in....... goodness I can't even remember how long that has been.

Persistence pays off......

Most newborns are unpredictable as much as I would love to say that I walk into a home, and the babies sleep from the moment I arrived to the second I leave. But truth be told, that has yet to happen for me. Little Mason took about 45 minutes to fall asleep, I say personally think it's because they know how much I want to squeeze their cute little cheeks or nibble on their tiny feet. lol With a little persistence, he did finally fall asleep and once he did he was a champ and I got so many adorable shots of this cutie.

I get asked to do Mini Sessions from time to time, its for families that want just a few photos of a milestone, a special season or even for families on a budget. Mini sessions lasts between 20-30 minutes and receive their edited photos on a CD. Here is just a few photos of a recent mini "winter" session.

Being that I' am an "on-location" photographer, meaning I don't operate out of a studio, the winter months means one of two things, we do a photo session outdoors or at the clients home. Even though doing a session in a clients home can be challenging, it can also produce some amazing memories and images. I mean lets face it, your little ones are most comfortable in their home, not a studio. This next session we did 95% of the photos indoors and for the last 15 minutes we decided to do a couple outdoor photos. :-)

Life's little blessing.... When I received the call from "J" asking if I can come to her home to photograph her son, she started to tell me a little about him. Well this little guy arrived in this world three months early, and have a rough start to his life. "J" wanted photos in celebration of his first birthday. I was excited to meet this little blessing.

I decided to start Evan's session off in his room, I mean this is where the parents put in so much time making it just right for their little ones.

Love that Evan's little toes were peaking out of the crib.

"Gotta love those baby blue eyes", that's the first thought that went through my mind when I showed up at the home of this family. The family wanted photos of their youngest son, and a few of their older children, I look over to say "hi" to the little star of the day and the first thing I noticed was his lovely blue eyes.

Goodness, I haven't updated my blog in ages. Why? Well I have been working on getting photo sessions edited and planning for an upcoming Bridal and Baby Expo. Speaking of the Bridal and Baby Expo, for all you Michigan fans out there, I will be at the Regency Manor in Southfield this Saturday February 26th from 3pm - 10pm. When asked to capture a wedding for a couple, there are so many things I think about before their big day. For example, is the couple serious, fun, romantic, detail orientated or maybe a little of everything. Once I figure that out I try to capture photos that truly reflects them. With that in mind, Chelsea and Pat are "fun", "Romantic", "Serious", and might I add "Gosh Darn Cute". :-)

They met at Michigan State University, and of course their wedding fell on game day, so while getting ready and the ceremony there were family & friends keeping them up to date on the game.

Look who turned one. :-) I had the pleasure of photographing Emily when she was 6 months old and she's now a year old. I've said this before and I'll say this again, my clients have the cutest kids. :-)

We met up at church where Emily's mom and dad were married. (love it) When we arrived the ground was wet and we were worried it might ran again. But no fear, mom was prepared.

Wouldn't you know it, luck was on our side and it started clearing up.

I think she knows how cute she is. :-)

I adore these two little ones. You might have noticed lasts years photo on my website, linking you to my blog. This is "F" and "J" a year later. I was amazed at how much "J" has grown, and "F" is still quite the little model.

"J" was asleep in the car when they arrived at their photo session in Milford, so it took him a little while before he was up and smiling. I ADORE "F", she is always looking out for her little brother.

I usually take some props with me to each session, sometimes it's bubbles or suckers to grab the kids attention, however this time I took an umbrella, and they loved opening and closing it.. Hey whatever works, right? lol

After the park we headed to some railroad tracks for some additional photos.

Tiny toes & hands, cute little lips, these are just a few things I adore about doing newborn sessions. I'd like you to meet Isabella, she was actually about three weeks old at the time of her photo session.

I arrive at the clients home and as I' am setting up, I' am learning that Isabella is the first grandchild in the family and that the family is HUGE. By huge I mean their are always people coming and going, and baby Isabella is always surrounded by people to love on her. Not only that, but they'll have their camera phones ready to capture every cute little moment. :-) That's actually a funny story, I was taking photos and I look back behind my shoulder and there are three camera phones taking photos of Isabella and of course they were off posting them to facebook. lol

What's great about doing boudoir sessions that on occasion I get asked to take the session outdoors. As an added bonus we also did photos with a Mustang convertible. I mean seriously, this was one FUN session and "J" was up for anything.

What amazed me the most about this session is that regardless of the age range of these girls, you can really see the love they have for each other.

I had the pleasure of shooting a the L'Arbre Croche Beach in Harbor Springs, Mi. This wedding was nothing short of amazing, everything was held at the beach. From the rehearsal day events, wedding/reception and they also have a day after brunch on the beach as well.

How would you describe your wedding day?

Perfect! It was the most perfect weekend start to finish, even with the questionable weather. We felt so blessed to have so many friends and family members there to celebrate with us (and everyone looked great in those goofy neon sunglasses). Everything worked out perfectly and most importantly, we (and all of our guests) had so much fun!

I can not even begin to tell you how much I adore the "K" family. I met them when I did their Maternity photos, and since had the pleasure of working with them several times to document their adorable son "Liam" as he approaches one.

I met the "K" family at the Detroit Zoo, for their session. Here are just some of my favorite photos from their session.

Anytime I do photos of a newborn, I always suggest to the parents that we select something for the child to have in each of their growing photo session. For Liam it was an adorable lamb rocker, I just LOVE progression photos. And yes, Dad actually carried that lamb the entire time we were at the zoo, and we must have been asked 10 times "WHY". lol

Through all my experience with photographing families and young children, I have learned a valuable lesson, bring a "surprise" for the younger children. Of course the surprise will vary depending on the age group, but nevertheless its a great thing to have, if you have a really camera shy child.

With that in mind, I bring you the "lollipop". Logan wasn't thrilled with taking family photos, but once he learned I had a little something for him, he was willing to humor me. And let me tell you, I happen to think it worked quite well. :-)

This photo was taken prior to the lollipop, he was actually hiding around that tree until he found that feather. :-)

A photo of Tyler, the oldest son, he was great to work with and would have done anything I asked of him. :-)

Before I share the last photo from their session, a little back ground. Mom and Dad wanted a few photos of just them, so the boys were off to the side eating their lollipops and I had them sitting in the grass getting some really great moments between the two of them. HA HA, yeah right, like the boys were going to let that happen. :-) They both charged into the shot, but I happen to LOVE this photo and it's one of my favorites from this session.

I have to start this post out with a little story, bare with me.

As I was working on Contessa's photos, I was also getting marketing stuff ready for a show that I did at the Jewish Community Center, in West Bloomfield. I decided to use one of Contessa's photos in a flyer I was going to hand out. Fast forward to the day of the event, there was a group of grandmas walking by, one happened to see the flyer and noticed one of the photos, she starts yelling "thats my Contessa, thats my Contessa", while grabbing a hand full of flyers to show all her friends the photo. I couldn't help but smile, as I watched her, so proud of her grandchild. Grandma is seriously the cutest thing ever, I just loved her.

With all that said, here are a few photos of beautiful little Contessa.

I'm not sure why, but I can't even begin to tell you how many times kids stick there tongue out at me during a photo session. LOL Good thing I' am also sassy at heart, so I love it.

All I can say about this next session is, OMG are these girls beautiful. I had so much fun during "M & B's" session. I have so many favorites from this session, that it was hard narrowing them down for this blog post.

As a professional photographer, there are so many "rules" to photography, but knowing when to break them and rolling with the end result is what matters and makes all the difference. :-) This photo of "M" is slightly out of focus, but I LOVE it anyways.

Being a big sister can be hard sometimes. You help watch over your little brother, yet want the attention all to yourself. I know this because I too have a little brother. It's moments like these where you see the younger sibling just looking at their older sister/brother, knowing they will always be there for them to lean on.

It's with great pleasure that I share with you, the wedding of Kristan and Brandon. You see, I met them through a mutual love we have...... Our dogs. :-) We both have Boston Terriers, and when I was asked to photograph their wedding, I couldn't have more excited. Of course I was hoping their dogs would be in the wedding, but sadly they got married on the beach that didn't allow for pets.

While Kristan was getting ready, I kept looking at that tub and knew I had to get some fun shots of her in it. :-)

We then left to "Tunnel Park" where the ceremony was taking place. As we got closer and closer to the ceremony location, it was getting fogger and fogger. I have to admit it did make for a cool vibe for their photos. :-)

I have had the pleasure of photographing this adorable, bright blue eyed, little boy when he was 6 months old, Gabe is now a year old and I found out he's going to be big brother in a few short months. Here is what will probably be Gabe's last professional photo session, without his little brother or sister. :-) I have to admit I' am excited for Gabe, I know he's going to make a wonderful big brother.

We started Gabe's session off at some near by train tracks where their are some old abandon trains. Isn't he precious?

We then headed to the beach to cool off and for some additional photos. He enjoyed watching the ducks swim by.

I have to say, I had a blast shooting this Rochester hills wedding, at the ever so amazing "Royal Park Place". Oh how I can't even begin to tell you the joy I have when I' am asked to do newborn photos. Gabe was 7 days old at the time of his first photo session, and I have to say, he was an angel and the perfect little (and I mean 6 lbs little) model.

Celebrating first birthdays is always an important time that you will remember forever. Who could ever forget adorable little Sloan's first birthday, there were ponies there for all the kids to ride on, and we did a special cake smash session. We all know that tis the season to be married, that's right over the course of the next few months, most of you know someone that is in the mist of planning their big day. One of the every so growing trends for the Bride-to-be, is to do a boudoir session for the man she loves.

Often times, women show up the day of the session telling me that they never thought they would be doing photo like this, and then walk away feeling even more beautiful and sexy about themselves and of course knowing their soon to be husband is going to love such a personal and thoughtful gift.

I had the pleasure of photographing formal coworker and his wife's maternity session. I remember when he got their first dog Toby and soon there will be a baby in their future. The "T" family will be expecting their first child in a few short weeks, and I can't wait to meet him/her.

This first photo makes me giggle every time I look at it. Talk about a dog giving you attitude :-)

Just before we shot this photo a car came speeding by. I was certain I was going to be spending the rest of the day soaked, but luckily he missed the puddle by less then a foot. I think the driver enjoyed seeing the reaction on our faces. :-0

I would like to give a HUGE shout out to all the parents out there with twins, triples, etc. Every time I' am asked to photograph young twins, I' am reminded how hard the parents work every single day. Add other children in the home on top of that, and well they are just miracle workers. HUGE pat of the back to each family out there that has raised (or raising) multiple birth children.

I have done many boudoir photos for women that aren't a size two and are very self conscience about their body, actually I also had a size 2 girl react the same why. Lets face it, we are our worst critiques.

With all that said, my favorite boudoir sessions are the the ladies that show up, have fun and just let their fears go at the door. I mean lets face it not too many people are there are 100% happy with their body. But I will say this, you will end up looking back at your session, and say "I' am so glad I did that, it's great to see how beautiful I' am".

"S" is another amazing women I did boudoir photos for, at Hotel Blake in Chicago. I can't even begin to tell everyone how much fun she was, I had such a great time photographing her and even had to try to stop laughing so I can hold my camera steady.

I recently did another boudoir marathon in the wonderful city of Chicago. This session was held at Hotel Blake, and the rooms there are perfect for a marathon.

Some of you may be wondering, "What is trash the dress"? Trash the dress (also referred to as TTD) is typically done the day after a wedding and it gives the bride and groom an opportunity to have some more relaxed, fun and sometimes wet (he he) photos. TTD is also usually done at a different location then where their wedding was held. For example, maybe a nearby city for some urban type photos, or a growing trend for most destination wedding couples is the ocean as their location of choice.

The biggest concern with most brides (and their family in some cases) is, "won't getting my dress wet ruin it?" Well lets look back to your wedding day, walking around having your wedding dress dragging on the ground or even dancing around with a beverage in your hand, maybe having a little bit of the beverage spill on your dress. Your dress probably ended up getting pretty dirty by the end of the night, right? Well, in most cases the salt water will actually clean your dress from all the fun you had the night before. Yes that's right I have had many of my previous brides tell me that after their TTD session, their dress was actually cleaner.

Now onto the fun part, the actual TTD photos. This really is a great way to express yourself, and relax from the stress you may have had on your wedding day. Here is a recent TTD shoot I did in Riviera Maya, I was thrilled when Amy and Joe told me they wanted to do a sunrise session.

Turning one year old is such a wonderful mile stone for parents and it's often one of the most photographed age groups. Max just turned one and I fell in love with this little guy. We headed up to his room to capture a few shots, and like many children he loves his books, actually so much so, at one point he actually bent over and kissed one of the animals in the book. It's moments like that, that really melt my heart and reminds me why I love doing photography. It's the little things these adorable children do, that keep you smiling.

My next client from the boudoir marathon in Chicago, is Kim. Kim wanted to do something different with her photos, she didn't want the typical boudoir session because she felt it just wasn't "her". After talking to her more I came up with the idea of a Pin Up style session, sent her a few sample pictures to give her an idea of what I had in mind, it ended up being perfect for her.

Last weekend I made my way to Chicago, for another fabulous boudoir marathon. There were six ladies that participated in the marathon, each of them brought their own style that made their sessions uniquely theirs and wow did these ladies look amazing.

For my first blog post in 2010, I thought it would be fun to give you a sneak peak into a couple photo sessions that I' am in the process of editing right now.

Every year, one of the things that are talked about on TV is "first baby born in the New Year". Well, these two babies were actually born in 2009, however I' am willing to bet the these two families are very excited to spend their first year with their new babies.

Before I started in photography, I worked for an automotive company in their finance department, it's there where I met my husband. I'm always amazed at how many couples meet their significant others at their place of work.

Heading to Chicago

When I was approached by "C" and she mentioned she wanted a boudoir session, but "with a twist" she didn't want a traditional session, where we meet up in a hotel room. Nope, she wanted a session outdoors. Now let me remind everyone that we live in Michigan, and it's pretty darn cold here in December, and she wanted to do an outdoor session. Oh how I knew we would get along great. :-)

After talking to "C" for a short time, she told me she wanted to have her photos taken in a place where you wouldn't think to do them. Oh was my mind racing with the endless possibilities, in the end we choose to do her session on some train tracks that weren't used that often, and as an added bonus their was an old unused train parked down the track. How perfect :-)

To round up the holiday season, I bring you to my last Christmas photo session of the year. This adorable little girl just turned 1 years old and I must admit, she seriously put me in such a good mood after I left. Just too cute for words. While I was there taking "C's" photos, Mom was making her one of those HUGE cupcakes for her 1st birthday party the next day. Needless to say I left there craving some. :-)

Holiday photos are starting to wrap up now and I' am actually almost finished editing them all. It was a great season, and I met a lot of wonderful families this year. I have some amazing events already planned for 2010, it makes me feel very blessed that I have a job that I enjoy so much.

This photo session was of three girls, 4.5, 1.5 & 11 months old. I arrived at their house and all the girls were dressed in similar outfits with tutu skirts, very ADORABLE.

On this blistering cold December day, I look back to less then a month ago when I was in Riveria Maya Mexico, nice, warm Mexico. While I was there photographing a wedding, I was approached by one of the wedding guests to do a Trash the Dress session to celebrate being married for 10 years. And what a great way to celebrate an anniversary, by splashing around in the ocean and sparking that flame once again.

I adore taking newborn photos, I just love their little toes, hands and the fact that they are a true blessing in every since of the word. Little Sophia was just over a week old when I did her photo session, and goodness was she ever so cute. But I have to say the cutest thing about her, was that she kept sucking on her little fingers. :-)

When I was asked to take these next set of photos, the mom mentioned she wanted outside photos of her children, however the wonderful Michigan weather wasn't working for us and we had to keep rescheduling her session. Well persistence paid off, and we were finally able to meet up. "S" family was great, her kids were great and I have to say, her daughter was a great little assistant to me the day of their session. :-)

During this time of year, I'm pretty busy taking photos for families that want to send updated photos of their children for their holiday cards. And I love it, I get to meet so many wonderful families.

This next session is of "R", and he was just precious. It was a little cold outside, but "R" didn't care, he was a trooper and did great.

As I was checking my email, I was reading what type of session this next client was looking for, they mentioned to me that they wanted a family photo session with their Boston Terrier, Emma. I was so excited, because most of you know, I have Boston's of my own and Volunteer with Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue.

Anyone that has a Boston Terrier or knows someone that does, knows how loving, crazy and full of personality can be. Emma was nothing short of those things. I met Emma's parents at a Lyon Oaks dog park for their photo session. Here are a few photos of their session, Enjoy.

I have to say, I always enjoy doing Maternity photos. Just seeing the glow on the mother to-be's face and seeing her husband so protective yet loving over everything she does, makes me smile. And whats extra special about this session. is that I will also be taking their newborn photos once the baby arrives. :-) I had so much fun with this couple and we were extremely lucky to have an unseasonably warm day outside.

I have had the pleasure of photographing three 6 month old's within days of each other, and I have to say I was loving every minute of it. This next session was for little "S" and we had so much fun dressing her up in some cute little tutu's, fairy wings and pearls. Just utter cuteness. :-)

I really love with taking 6-7 month old photos. They show their personality, and seriously they are as cute as can be. Little Gabe is no exception, this little guy stole my heart with those big blue eyes of his. Now onto the task of picking out just a few of his photos to show you, this is going to be tough.
